O'Connell Street is an upmarket area in North Adelaide which hosts more than 40 cafes, wine bars and restaurants together with several pubs, all serving various cuisine. There is a certain Mediterranean style about the architecture, and quaint side streets.
You can wander around the small shops during the day, or experience a friendly, cosmopolitan night life during the evening. A continuation of King William Road, O'Connell Street was named after Daniel O'Connell; an Irish political leader.
