Caloundra, just 96 kilometres north of Brisbane, is known as the Winter Playground of the Sunshine Coast. With its great surf beaches and beautiful hinterland, Caloundra provides something for everyone. Caloundra also offers more sheltered waterways where you can enjoy fishing, boating, water-skiing and even sailboarding; these beaches include Bulcock Beach and Golden Beach.

Kings Beach is one of the favourite patrolled beaches in the area. Services include picnic and BBQ areas, playgrounds, showers and toilets. There is a free 25 metre saltwater swimming pool together with a childrens pool, wading area and disabled access. The Pool was officially reopened in 2007 following a refurbishment, having been originally opened in 1977.

This refurbishment was part of a multi million dollar redevelopment of the area that has made this a wonderful location for all the family to enjoy. Nearby are a number of restaurants. Kings Beach is serviced by local bus services and is accessed via Ormonde Terrace.
From the Western end of Bulcock Esplande, a nice walk of roughly 4km can commence. Passing through Kings and Shelley beaches and continuing on to Moffat Headland to absorb views of Point Cartwright. Other walks include Port Cartwright Drive where you can walk to the lighthouse and descend to the Mooloolah River.
Another popular attraction in the area is the renowned Corbould Park Racecourse. Located just a few minutes from Caloundra and less than an hour from Brisbane, Corbould Park Racecourse is considered one of the State's best racecourses and hosts regular meets every Sunday.
Caloundra is considered the Business Centre of the area however developing villages Kawana Waters and Pelican Waters are becoming more and more self-contained and are only minutes from the amazing surf beaches. Caloundra offers direct access to Pumicestone Passage (the stretch of water separating Bribie Island from the mainland) where you can revel in boating fun! |

The Caloundra area acts as the entrance to the stunning Sunshine Coast Hinterland where you can find an array of arts and craft galleries for your own entertainment in locations such as Montville and Eumundi.
Other popular destinations include the Glass House Mountains which offer's beautiful scenic drives, wonderful walking opportunities and photographic delights.
