Eating out is generally reasonable in Darwin. There are a number of cafes, restaurants and takeaways along Mitchell Street which are reasonable but can also be filling. Many of the pubs also serve food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There is a wide range of choice in the Smith Street Mall, and several places in the Harry Chan Arcade. At the end of the Wharf Precinct is also a large food centre worth sampling.
Most of the hotels also have their own restaurants at varying prices.
