The "Gas Dash" as it is known is a hardcore desert racing event bringing together a diverse range of off-road racing machines; bikes, quads, 4x4s and buggies. Our competitors are as diverse as the machines they race or watch; from across Western Australia, interstate and international, in occupations from solicitors to jackeroos. The Gascoyne is the real Outback, competitor's challenge themselves taking the most brutal desert racing terrain in Australia.
The Dash is a point to point race over a hugely varied landscape, a true cross country course extensively consisting of natural desert and outback terrain. Competitors race in purpose-built buggies and motorbikes in a two-day, 500 kilometre challenge across some of the harshest terrain in Western Australia. For most it is true "Winning is something, finishing is everything".
