Explore areas that can only be accessed by 4WDs like the magnificent Jim Jim Falls in Kakadu National Park. Have an unforgettable adventure exploring the outback in Litchfield National Park and spend the night bush camping under the stars and sharing stories around the campfire. You'll also take home some insight into Aboriginal culture and way of life. The tour starts in Darwin and ends in Darwin early evening on day three.
Our 'Unleashed' safari is the extreme side and is for YOUNG, FIT PEOPLE only. It includes strenuous hikes and basic bush camping (sleeping in swags with no tents) often in remote locations so we can get away from the crowds where possible in Kakadu National Park.
Highlights include 4WD Adventure, Aboriginal Culture, Bush Camping, Jim Jim Falls, Litchfield National Park, Maguk (Barramundi Gorge), Mary River Wetlands, Twin Falls and Ubirr.
Day 1 : Darwin to Mary River
We start the day by checking out the waterfalls of Litchfield National Park with the option of a refreshing swim. Enjoy lunch before heading to the spectacular Mary River Wetlands, where birds aren’t the only abundant wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for lurking crocodiles on an afternoon river cruise! We stay overnight at our bush campsite in the Mary River region. (LD)
Day 2 : Mary River to Kakadu
Discover ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr before we climb to the top of a rocky lookout for some fabulous views of the Nardab floodplain. Next we head to Maguk (Barramundi Gorge) where a hike is rewarded with a reviving swim in the plunge pools. You’ll be asleep in no time once we reach our overnight bush camp in Kakadu. (BLD)
