2 Day Yachting Introductory Course

Taught on beautiful Sydney Harbour, this introductory sailing course covers the fundamentals. You will be at the helm of an exciting Beneteau yacht right from the first lesson and will be able to comfortably accomplish all the basic manoeuvres of sailing by the end of the course.

Learn to sail for the first time with this exstensive and informative introductory course, taking place on the open waters of Sydney Harbour! The course requires participants to complete 15 hours of sailing experience, comprising of four 3 hour on board practical lessons. After building up your confidence with hands on lessons, there is a theory session and a free club race included. Alternatively this beginners course can also be completed as a weekend live-aboard course.

All participants will receive their own course kit including RYA competent crew handbook, RYA log book, sunglasses strap and a complimentary sailing magazine. Insurance, safety equipment and use of spray jackets are also included and each participant shall receive their RYA Start Yachting course certificate upon completion.

By the end of the course you will be familiar with basic sailing experience and understanding of sailing terms. Participants will also recognise the relevance of wind direction & speed to sailing, points of sail, basic knots, manoeuvres of tacking and gybing, right of way rules, rigging and preparation for sailing. NOTE: The 2012 - 2013 season rates are valid from the 1st April 2012 to the 31st March 2013. The 2013 - 2014 season rates commence on the 1st April 2013.
