2 Day Fraser Island Tour

Experience the magic and adventure that awaits you on Queensland's Fraser Island. This tour will see you touring the inner depths of some of Fraser Island's most scenic wilderness walks. Famous for it's many attractions including some of Australia's last remaining pure dingo breeds and sandy shores extending into crystal clear waters, Fraser Island is sure to provide something to amaze even the most discerned traveller.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1:

Travelling north from Brisbane you will pass the Glass House Mountains and Sunshine Coast before arriving at Rainbow Beach. From Rainbow Beach you will proceed in 4WD's, driving on to the beach to meet the ferry at Inskip Point, where a short Ferry ride will take you to the southern tip of Fraser Island.

Head for Seventy Five Mile Beach and find yourself a nice spot to enjoy a fresh picnic lunch. Travelling north up the eastern beach of Fraser Island the tour heads for Eli Creek. Eli Creek is a fast flowing fresh water stream. Take the beautiful board walk to the top of the creek and let yourself relax and float down this picturesque stream.

The next stop on the tour is Lake Wabby. Parking the 4WD's at the start of the 20 minute walking track, which will take you through lush coastal heath and thick eucalypt forest. The deepest lake on Fraser Island, the famous Lake Wabby awaits you at the end of the trail. The return walk goes through the Hammerstone Sandblow.

At the end of the day the group travels to Eurong Beach Resort to check into the varying accommodation and enjoy a buffet dinner in the Resort Restaurant. Accommodation is in a 4 share dormitory and is backpacker style accommodation. Upgrades to twin/double or single rooms are available at an extra cost.

Day 2:

With an early start for a continental breakfast at 7.00am, the group checks out and gets out on tour by 8.00am. Today you will head to Central Station to visit Fraser island's lush subtropical rainforests. Take a fantastic one hour walk along the clear flowing waters of Wanggoolba Creek and learn about Fraser Island's Timber History.

Next the tour sets off to Lake Birrabeen, one of Fraser Island's beautiful crystal clear lakes. You will have plenty of time here to swim, relax, sunbathe and enjoy a picnic lunch. After lunch the tour heads through the forest roads back to the Southern end of Fraser Island. Mid afternoon you will depart Rainbow Beach back to Brisbane, with the tour finishing around 6.00pm.
