This tour takes particiants on a 3 day exploratory mission through some of Tasmania's most famous and beautiful attractions. Marvel at the stunning natural beauty of Freycinet National Park, outlooking Wineglass Bay. Explore southern Tasmania's natural cave formations and take a relaxing dip in the thermal springs. Conclude your adventure in Tasmania with a closer look at some of the state's heritage at Port Arthur, before some final fleeting panoramic views from some of the most spectacular lookouts in the country.
Day 1: Wineglass Bay & Freycinet National Park
Hop aboard on this famous tour of Tasmania's Wineglass Bay and Freycient National Park. In the morning you will start your tour by travelling through the delightful seaside towns of Orford, Triabunna Coles Bay and Swansea. Along the way you'll be able to check out the fantastic coastal scenery and learn about some of the local history and industries of the area.
Arriving at the famous Freycinet National Park, you will be given plenty of time to explore this famous area. Take a walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout and see one of the top 10 beaches in the world. Don't just look with your eyes, continue down and let your toes feel the shimmering white sand of Wineglass Beach. For the more active guests, ask your guide about doing the Wineglass Bay and Hazards Beach Circuit Walk. This is one of the premier short walks in all of Tasmania.
Later in the afternoon you will have the opportunity to explore the other fantastic sights in the area including Cape Tourville Lighthouse, Richardson's Beach, Honeymoon Bay, sleeping Bay and hopefully you will even have time to get up close and personal with a friendly wallaby. Although you might just want to sit back on a lonley beach and have a swim, your guides are experts in the area and will find the perfect itinerary to suit you. On the return journey to your Hobart accommodation, you will be able to enjoy the onboard DVD screens on the comfortable air conditioned bus. You will then return back to your local accommation for the night.
Day 2: "Deep South" - Cockle Creek & Hastings Caves
Today you will journey to the end of the world, as the group makes its way south through the beautiful Huon Valley enroute to Cockle Creek and Recherché Bay. You will be travelling on the last road in Australia, next stop Antartica. Arriving in the South West National Park you will be able to enjoy a beautiful wilderness walk to Fischers Point whaling station and enjoy a swim if you would like.
Enjoy the serenity this bay provides before a short drive takes the group to the Hastings Caves. You will be able to see one of the best caves in the southern hemisphere on your guided tour. After visiting the caves take a dip in the thermal pools, the natural hot springs are at a constant 27 degrees and are a really enjoyable way to finish your day. You will thus be returned to your local accommodation by the tour coach.
Day 3: Port Arthur, Richmond & Tasman Peninsula
The tour kicks off with an early start, as you visit the famous Richmond Colonial Village. Here you will have the time to stroll around Australia's most historic town and its beautiful Georgian buildings, including the oldest bridge in Australia. Arriving at the Tasman Peninsula, you can check out the magnificent ocean and coastal views from Pirates Bay Lookout. Head to Eaglehawk Neck and take a short walk on beautiful Egg Beach, while learning about the famous convict Dogline.
The tour then proceeds to visit the fantastic natural attractions of Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen, before arriving at the famous Port Arthur Historic Site, Tasmania's most visited destination. Here you can explore famous Port Arthur. Visit over 30 historic buildings, take a harbour cruise or walking tour to enhance the experience and check out the popular museum and theatre.
Before departing for Hobart you have the chance to visit the stunning Remarkable Cave and check out the panoramic views from Maingon Bay Lookout. A great place to see whales if you are lucky enough. On the way home, sit back and enjoy a movie on the screens provided, there is even chocolate treats to be handed out to everybody.
