Day 1: Welcome to Perth

This afternoon when you meet your Tour Director and travelling companions, set off on a city tour of Perth including a visit to Kings Park where you can see the broad expanse of the Swan River and wander around the Anzac Memorial and wildflower gardens. Afterwards relax and enjoy a welcome reception and dinner while you get to know your travelling companions.

Day 2: Perth to Kalgoorlie

Travel east passing through Corrigin to Hyden and visit Wave Rock at lunch time. This magnificent rock formation, resembling a gigantic wave, was formed from granite over three million years ago. Once you’ve viewed Wave Rock, why not wander through Hyden’s eclectic collections of lace and the largest collection of toy soldiers in the world at the visitors centre. Continue through the former ghost town of Coolgardie on your way to Kalgoorlie, a town surrounded by some of the most dazzling spring wildflowers (seasonal) and eerie gold-rush ghost towns.

Day 3: Kalgoorlie to Esperance

This morning you’ll join a local guide on a tour of the Super Pit gold mine. The Super Pit produces up to 850,000 ounces of gold every year and is the largest open-pit gold mine in Australia. Afterwards, an orientation of this historic gold mining town will reveal unique turn of the century buildings including the famous Exchange Hotel and Hay Street. Later, stop to look out over the impressive salt lake, Lake Lefroy, then continue through Norseman and on to Esperance for a two night stay at this picturesque seaside town.

Day 4: Esperance

Visit Cape Le Grand National Park for spectacular views of the wild coastal scenery, rugged granite peaks and sweeping heathlands. Enjoy a free afternoon in Esperance to do as you wish.

Day 5: Esperance to Albany

See the mysterious Pink Lake and travel through Ravensthorpe and the Fitzgerald Biosphere to Bluff Knoll Lookout to witness the rugged beauty of the Stirling Ranges National Park. The range is one of the richest areas for flora in the world. Continue to Albany, Australia’s home of the Anzacs.

Day 6: Albany to Margaret River

This morning visit Torndirrup National Park, home to the Natural Bridge and the Gap and discover the wild coastline. Next, it’s the historic Whaling Station for a fascinating insight into the region’s seafaring past with a local guide. Later visit Valley of the Giants with its huge Tingle and Karri trees. Explore the canopy of the Tingle forest along the Tree Top Walk towering above the forest below. Continue to Margaret River, one of Australia’s premier wine growing regions.

Day 7: Margaret River

This morning enjoy a scenic drive through the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park with its karri forest and peppermint trees. Explore Jewel Cave, home to ancient fossil remains of extinct animals, with a local guide. Later, you’ll visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse, situated at the most south-westerly tip of Australia where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. Enjoy the award-winning 3 Oceans Wine Company in the spectacular Margaret River wine region for a tour, tastings and lunch, freshly prepared from local produce. This afternoon after a quick visit to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, there is time to explore Margaret River.

Day 8: Margaret River to Fremantle

Travel north through Busselton, a popular holiday resort on the shores of Geographe Bay, to Fremantle. On arrival discover the indigenous heritage and culture of Fremantle on a guided walking tour. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Perhaps visit the Western Australia Maritime Museum to learn about the maritime history of Fremantle. You can even join a guided tour of the Oberon Class submarine, HMAS Ovens. Why not explore Fremantle Prison on a guided tour, from its convict origins in the 1850s until its closure as a maximum-security prison in 1991. Or take in the sights of Fremantle aboard a replica tram with local commentary, photo opportunities and the option to hop on and off at local sights.

Day 9: Fremantle to Perth

In your free time this morning you could visit the colourful Fremantle Markets where there are 150 stalls under one roof and you’ll have a chance to purchase local arts and crafts and taste local delights. Or you may like to wander along the Fremantle foreshore and enjoy some Aussie fish and chips with views of Freo’s famous fishing fleet or sip a cooling ale at Little Creatures Brewery. Later, enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Swan River on your return to Perth.

Day 10: Perth to Kalbarri

Travel to New Norcia. This small settlement revolves around a Benedictine Monastery, where you’ll visit the museum and art gallery. Later, continue to Kalbarri, a coastal fishing town, where the Murchison River meets the Indian Ocean.

Day 11: Kalbarri to Monkey Mia

Venture into Kalbarri National Park. Visit Red Bluff Lookout and view the spectacular scenery of Murchison River Gorge from the vantage point of Hawks Head Lookout and keep an eye out for graceful Peregrine Falcons hunting along the gorges and cliffs. Later visit fascinating Shell Beach, one of only two in the world, formed from billions of coquina bivalve shells up to ten metres deep. Continue to the crystal blue waters and pristine sandy beaches of Monkey Mia where you’ll stay for the next two nights.

Day 12: Monkey Mia

In the morning, why not rise and watch for the famous dolphins that swim into shore. These wild mammals of the ocean swim into the shallows to mingle with people. Your day is at leisure so why not sail the crystal clear waters on a cruise to spot aquatic mammals, soak up the sun relaxing on the beach or even take a scenic flight over the pristine coastline.

Day 13: Monkey Mia to Geraldton

Travel to Hamelin Pool to see the world’s best known colony of Stromatolites, dating back to the beginning of life on earth. Continue south along the North West Coastal Highway to Geraldton, in the heart of the Batavia Coast, we stop at the incredible HMAS Sydney Memorial and enjoy a little free time to explore the township.

Day 14: Geraldton to Perth

Today travel into Nambung National Park, home of the mystical Pinnacles, which were formed by calcified limestone thousands of years ago.

Meet your Aboriginal guide who’ll share with you their way of life and will treat you to the enchanting sounds of the didgeridoo. Continue to Perth this afternoon. Celebrate your holiday at a farewell dinner with your Tour Director and new-found friends.

Day 15: Farewell from Perth
