Day 1: Arrive Adelaide
On arrival in Adelaide you will be transferred to your hotel. See the sights of Adelaide then join a local food expert for a guided tour of the 140 year old Adelaide Market. Enjoy the hustle and bustle, sample the culinary delights, meet the traders and share the history and the secrets of the Market. Relax with your Tour Director and fellow travellers at a Welcome Reception and dinner.

Day 2: Adelaide - Flinders Ranges
Today’s journey takes you north to sample some local wines at Sevenhill Cellars, the oldest existing winery in the Clare Valley. Travel through the spectacular Flinders Ranges and to Wilpena Pound, a remarkable natural amphitheatre covering nearly 8,000 hectares.

Day 3: Flinders Ranges to Port Augusta
Enjoy time to explore Wilpena Pound, before you travel through picturesque Pitchi Richi Pass to Port Augusta where we will visit the Wadlata Outback Centre.

Day 4: Port Augusta to Coober Pedy
Visit Woomera before travelling to isolated Coober Pedy, the opal capital! Visit an underground church and home with a local Guide and view an opal demonstration.

Day 5: Coober Pedy to Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Cross the border into the Northern Territory and continue to Uluru – Kata Tjuta National Park. This evening enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as the sun sets over the western horizon and the evening sky brings out the many shades of colour for which Uluru is renowned.

Day 6: Kata Tjuta (the Olgas)
Rise early to view sunrise at Uluru. Enjoy a guided walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole and stop at the informative Uluru – Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) and spend time exploring Walpa Gorge. Take in a magnificent outback sunset at Kata Tjuta while enjoying a complimentary glass of sparkling wine. B
Day 7: Ayers Rock to Kings Canyon
Travel to Kings Canyon today. A guided climb to the canyon rim will be rewarded with magnificent views of Watarrka National Park. Or you may prefer to explore the canyon floor, an easier walk.

Day 8: Kings Canyon to Alice Springs
Travel through to Alice Springs. Your sightseeing includes a visit to the School of the Air, which provides an educational service for children living in remote areas, and the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Hear from a local expert how this marvellous facility operates to provide a mantle of safety to the people of the outback.

Day 9: Aboriginal Culture
Spend time with a local Aboriginal Guide at the Alice Springs Desert Park. You will learn of life and survival of the Arrernte People, including bush food, the search for water and kinship. Visit the Nocturnal House and enjoy reserved seating at the Birds of Prey Presentation. Later, you’ll visit the historic Telegraph Station and continue on to Simpson’s Gap, a prominent waterhole in the West MacDonnell Ranges, with its lovely river red gum scenery. You are invited to join us on a discovery tour at the Earth Sanctuary World Nature Centre. Enjoy dinner and afterwards hear from the Falzon brothers, Tom and Danny, about the sustainable lifestyle they have established. They may even lead you on a sing-a-long accompanied by the didgeridoo and guitar. B D
Day 10: Alice Springs to Tennant Creek
Travelling north you arrive at Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles). There is time to walk around these precariously balanced boulders. On arrival in Tennant Creek you’ll join a local Guide for a tour of the historic Battery Hill Precinct. Tour a mine and experience the life of an early miner. Tonight enjoy a delicious barbecue dinner at the Battery Hill Mine Centre.

Day 11: Tennant Creek - Katherine
Travel across vast outback stations. Visit the historic Daly Waters Hotel then continue on to Mataranka, ‘Land of the Never Never’. At Mataranka Homestead you can visit the replica of the original Elsey Homestead, used in the filming of ‘We of the Never Never’. Or, you may take the palm lined walkway for a swim in the famous thermal springs. Travel on to Katherine, often described as the place ‘where the outback meets the tropics’.

Day 12: Katherine - Kakadu
Join your local Guide on an early morning cruise through Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park and then continue deep into Kakadu National Park. Later cruise on the famous Yellow Water Billabong with a local guide. You should see a variety of birdlife and with luck, you may also see the feared estuarine crocodile basking in the muddy shallows.

Day 13: Kakadu to Darwin
Your first stop is the Bowali Visitor Centre. The displays here will take you on a journey through Kakadu’s varied habitats and landscapes. Travel to Ubirr and view Aboriginal rock art dating back some 20,000 years. Climb to the top of this rocky outcrop for rewarding views over the flood plains and escarpment country. This afternoon travel to Darwin and enjoy a sightseeing tour of this tropical city on arrival. Hotel: Mantra on the Esplanade, Darwin, 2 nights. B
Day 14: Litchfield National Park
Travel to Litchfield National Park. Your first stop is the mysterious Magnetic Termite Mounds. Then travel to view beautiful Florence and Wangi Falls with time for a swim. Join your Tour Director and fellow travellers for a Farewell Dinner cruise on Darwin Harbour. Enjoy a delicious buffet meal as you watch the sunset over Darwin and the surrounding area – it’s time to celebrate your Northern Territory outback adventure (seasonal). B FD
Day 15: Depart Darwin
Your tour concludes this morning after breakfast. You will be transferred to Darwin Airport to connect with your onward flight. B
