Day 1: Adelaide - Victor Harbor
Depart Adelaide at 8.30am. First up visit seaside Glenelg then continue on to the coastal village of Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Here you'll have some free time to explore, maybe take a walk to Granite Island and see sensational coastal views. Next travel by ferry to Kangaroo Island. Tonight have dinner at the Aurora Ozone Hotel, overlooking the Backstair Passage. Hotel: Aurora Ozone Hotel, Kangaroo Island, 2 nights.
Day 2: Kangaroo Island
Today explore Kangaroo Island! At Seal Bay take a guided tour along the beach among the Australian sea lions. Experience great photo opportunities at the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral's Arch. Also do some koala, wallaby and kangaroo spotting at Flinders Chase National Park. You are invited by the Hannaford family to Middle River for a Shearers Feast. Relax with a pre-dinner drink on the croquet lawn (try your hand at a spot of croquet or perhaps spot some wildlife by torchlight) then stroll to the old shearing shed, for a candle-lit casual dinner, prepared from local produce.
Day 3: Barossa Valley
Leave Kangaroo Island, ferrying back to Cape Jervis, then off through the Adelaide Hills to the picturesque Barossa Valley - taking in some sensational panoramic views from Mengler Lookout - then it's on to Chateau Yaldara for a tour and tasting! Also visit the Angas Park Fruit Centre then relax and watch the sunset over the vineyards at Barossa Valley Novotel Resort - what a way to end the day! Hotel: Novotel Barossa Valley Resort, Barossa Valley.
Day 4: Mildura
Visit Banrock Station followed by a tasting at the winery. Cross into Victoria for an up close look at the mighty Murray River and the fabulous fresh produce of Mildura, often referred to as 'the Mediterranean in the Outback'. Hotel: Mercure Hotel, Mildura.
Day 5: Wagga Wagga
The highlights today include a visit to historic Hay and the picturesque scenery of the Riverina district including the country town of Narrandera. Stay overnight in the city of Wagga Wagga which features spectacular gardens, historic machinery, arts and crafts and a beautiful river and lake. Hotel: Country Comfort, Wagga Wagga.
