Testimonials
BOOKED DATE: Saturday 28 January 2012
"After a short visit to McLaren Vale, where we got the opportunity to briefly view the township, it was onwards to a number of other short stops to take in the views and gather a few photos before continuing our journey to the main attraction; Coorong and for me the opportunity to view the Goolwa Barrage lock system in action and the mouth of the Murray River.
Once on board the vessel and having navigated through the Goolwa Barrage we were treated to a nice lunch. We cruised into the Coorong National Park stopping at Godfrey's Landing for a guided walk across Younghusband Peninsula to view the Great Southern Ocean. The mouth of the Murray was well worth the journey and witnessing the salt water blending with the Murray River’s fresh water and the dramatic colour differences was a unique opportunity.
A stretch of the legs at the mouth of the Murray allowed some nice photos. Plenty of bird life was all around and for bird lovers it was a haven for spotting a wide range of birds, plus we saw some seals too, lurking near the lock system. Afternoon tea was also server on board. This is a tour for bird lovers, those who want to find out more about the Murray River, witness the Goolwa Lock system and experience the final part of the Murray River as it meets the Ocean and the colourful mix of Salt and Fresh water visibly mixing."
