Floreat

Located on the coast, just 15 minutes' drive southwest of central Perth, is the affluent suburb of Floreat. Known for its wonderful swimming beach (Floreat came second in the 1999 Best Beach Awards) and famous Surf Lifesaving Club, the area has many other points of interest.

Travel the streets to see the many fine art deco homes and million dollar properties. You will find a number of stylish cafes and restaurants along Cambridge Street. Australia's most advanced swimming pool technology is in operation at the local aquatic centre. There is a 50 metre, 8 lane pool and a toddlers' pool, all located in beautiful, natural bushland surroundings. Material 'sails' provide sun and windbreaks and the water is at a constant temperature of 27 degrees.

Perry Lakes Reserve and Stadium offer international class track and field facilities with a capacity of 35,000 spectators. There are a range of places to stay in Floreat, from quality hotels to backpacker hostels and bed and breakfasts.
