Adventures in Victoria

The Peninsula is the place to be at Christmas...Rosebud and Dromana for the younger guys and Portsea for the older jetset. Actually anywhere there is nice...just drive down and stop where you wish to stay.

My favourite places in Melbourne are the Dandenongs...stunning views and shops and art galleries and food places. For night life you cannot and should not go past Toorak Road and Chapel Street, and St Kilda Road is getting trendy now too.

Get your hair cut in Toorak Road Sth Yarra...buy a garment on Chapel Street, and eat a meal at any of the bars, restaurants or bistros that you walk past. My favourite haunts used to be The Toorak Hotel and Alexanders Hotel in Sth yarra. There are some fabulous restaurants along the whole street.

Hit Middle Park Beach for a swim and listen to Jazz in South Melbourne or Albert Park. Visit the Brighton Yacht Club and shops for a stunning up market experience and dine at the restaurant by the club for a stunning meal..and see the huge TV in the men's.

For bargains, hit the markets..Victoria Market in the city, Bayswater on a Sunday and Chapel street during the week. I always love Melbourne and if I could get a job there may be tempted back someday. Melbourne is total class and elegance and full of some very beautiful people.

I have just discovered a new hostel just off Chapel Street.
It is renovated Victorian mansion, with everything brand new inside as of October 2005.
It is surrounded by bars, restaurants, just on the shopping precinct of Prahran and 5 minutes from beaches
It is called Back of Chapel and I suggest your check it out
