My friend and I are looking at camping when travelling around Australia. Can anyone suggest some good camp spots? Anything we should take with us?

1).
Get the publication Camps Australia Wide 4. It has all camping spots and caravan parks, also national park camping; it's great, and shows the cheap spots.

Australia is jam packed with great camping spots. Just travel the east coast and you will see them everywhere.
Hope you enjoy your travels.

I've been trying to do research on camping in the national parks. Do you have to buy a camping permit for each of the territories? Is there anyway around that since the permits are for 12 months and I will only be traveling there for 2?
