We had been for a holiday to Adelaide to pick up our twin tub washing machine from our previous home. It was precariously loaded in the back of our hatch back with the boot part way up and Octopus straps securing it. Almost into Murray Bridge my husband tells me we have run out of petrol. Believe it or not we kept travelling along the highway! The tail wind had caught in the rear of the car and it just kept going. We turned off the highway and rolled until we stopped about 100m from a garage. The look on the guys face who travelled past us in a hotted up car was priceless, we were travelling along without any noise at all. What an adventure. Sure wish I had a washing machine in the boot on other occasions I have misjudged the petrol supply
