My sister and I are young travellers, 21 and 19 respectively, and as a result there were many hiccups on our travels around Europe. The most memorable mistake that I made was when we were in Tallinn. We hopped on a public bus and I walked to the front of the bus to pay the driver for tickets. The bus was designed so that the driver had a long booth that finished at the middle of the front door. I just wanted to pay and stamp my ticket so I placed the notes in the booths money slot. To my horror the notes started flying around the booth and flying into the drivers face, I hadn’t noticed that he had his side of the front door open!!! I was mortified and kept saying “sorry!” while continuing to watch on with dread as the notes tickled his face. When the bus stopped the notes fell and the driver fetched them and gave me my tickets gruffly. I was then subjected to the sneers of the locals and my sister wetting herself with laughter all the way into town.
