At the time I had 10 children and pregant with number 11 we had just arrived Into Sydney all tired but wanting to catch a show. The kids kept on asking if i would takem em to the movies so I gave in when the show finished it was about 1 oclock in the arvo.
I thought i done a correct head count not knowing i had picked up two other children roughly about the same age as my young kids at the time 5 and 6 years of age. We went to mac donalds and then walked around the markets and then I decided to catch a cab home we caught a maxi taxi getting out i notice we had 2 little red head children with us.
I paid the taxi of and walked all my children into glebe police station with all kids holding hands i must point out we are aboriginals. When i got to the counter in the police station and explained my story to the counstable that i had two extra children and where we had been and the mere fact that i never noticed until we pulled up at our house where we were staying the officer looked at my 5 year old and my son said he wanted a new brother and we could trade two of his sibblings at the hospital. I never felt so bad we sat there for the city police to bring the mother over to Glebe and still my son said you can have his two brothers we can keep your two I felt so bad I couldn't stop saying sorry. That happened back in 1990 and now my tribe are grown up and I only have 2 left at home I am glad those days are over of head count!!
