Survivor hut fiasco

For a surprise my partner and I decided to take my parents for their first overseas trip to Vanuatu. I was anticipating the surprise and wanting it to go perfectly, so of course something had to go wrong!

We went on this beautiful day cruise sailing along past all of Vanuatu's splendour when we got to this private beach for lunch.

We arrived to see these shelter huts that we could eat under and store our belongings. All the girls decided to go for a swim whilst the boys stood talking under the hut.

My dad casually leant on the post holding the shed up when all of a sudden us girls hear a crack. We whip around to see the hut collapsing on all of the boys. We went bolting up to get them out from under the hut and luckily one quick thinker had stood at one end and held the roof up so it didn't completely crush everyone under it.

We got everyone out and apart from a few scratches and bruises everyone was ok! After talking to the tour guide, she told us the huts were built by the TV shows survivor contestants (no wonder they weren't safe), but all my dad had to say of his experience was "Why didn't you have the camera? We could have sent this to funniest home videos!"

Well at least he was looking on the funny side!
