How about a set of applicable open/ring spanners for your vehicle (ie metric for Japanese vehicles).

You must take, some spare spark plugs, belts especially the fan belt, Radiator hoses and some water and coolant, couple of litres of engine oil. A spanner set and some sockets.

I usually get parts on ewreckers.com.au it's a lot more convenient and saves me the run around for spares, i find it convenient because if i don't find what i want, i list a wanted item request and this request gets sent to dozens of sellers simultaneously, something that saves me a lot of phone calls. i like this site also because i don't have to take the first part that is offered to me as before, i had to take whatever the wrecking shop had because of the distance between the wrecking yards. when you're on a trip, it is also convenient because you can source out parts in the immediate area you're in
