Hi guys, I recently visited the Gold Coast and caught a Shovel Nose Ray, apparently it is a member of the shark family?? Just wondering can they be eaten??

They are great eating. Remember that the head accounts for most of it, so it'll need to be pretty big to get a good feed.

An often overlooked gun bait for whiting is carrot. I know it sounds weird, but they seem to like the red colour of it and it is hard for them to steal it off the hook so you get a better hookup rate.
