LAST UPDATED : 20 September 2009 at 13:30:26 Since all I know is from books, I have no clue if I'm pronouncin g things right. So, what is the correct pronunciation for Kakadu KA-ka-doo? Ka-KA-doo? Ka-ka-DOO?), Uluru,Mt. Hagen (Hay-gen? Hah-gen?) Gagudju. THanks. I could help me not sound too stupid when I get off the plane. Well I'm not sure about the others myself, but Kakadu is pronounced:
Ka (short a sound, as in 'cat')
ka (short u sound, as in 'up')
du (pronounced 'do')
