Gunning is a town on the Old Hume Highway in New South Wales, Australia, it is located around 260 kilometres south-west of Sydney and 75 kilometres north of Canberra.

Gunning is the centre of 'The Shire of Small Villages', settled in 1820s. By 1848 the town had 95 residents, the store and an hotel. The railway arrived in 1875 and Gunning became a busy rail terminus for some time.

It is an old transport and wool growing centre offering heritage experiences with a peaceful, friendly rural atmosphere.
