Gold Coast Indy 300

Gold Coast Indy 300 is a 4 day and night event held in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. This highly anticipated annual event has been running since 1991 and continues to draw crowds of thousands. In 2005 alone Indy welcomed a crowd of over 315,000 patrons for a long weekend filled with motor racing, entertainment and celebrities.

The event, held 23 - 26th October in 2008, is a festival of fun for the whole family. Indy showcases live band performances, stunt displays from the Freestyle MotoX team and Gold Coast favourites the CAPA Stunt Team. Representing the Army, Navy and RAAF, the Australian Defence Force puts on a exhilarating air combat display in both helicopters and the high-speed Roulettes. There is also a popular Miss Indy pageant that draws lots of local, interstate and international attention.

Both IndyCar Series Cars and V8 Supercars race on the 4.47km street circuit at speeds reaching 300km/hour. The 750 horsepower IndyCar Series Cars and the 620-horsepower V8 Supercars will keep you on the edge of your seat as they negotiate their way through some of Surfers' tallest highrisers.

During the Indy long weekend there is free parking available at Parklands Showgrounds along with a shuttle bus to Indy's North Gate at regular intervals. Indy ticketholders are also offered free public transport on Surfside Buslines and any trains on the QR Citytrain route. You can catch a QR Citytrain to either the Nerang or Helensvale train stations where you can transfer onto a Surfside Shuttle bus which will take you to the Indy gate. Taxi ranks are located at the North and South Indy gates.

There is a huge range of accommodation ideally located for eager Indy-goers as the circuit track runs right through some of Surfers' most popular highrisers. Many apartments have views over the track, or are within short walking distance. There is also a number of hotels, motels and backpackers in close proximity to Surfers Paradise and the Indy track.

There are a range of ticketing options available for the Indy weekend these include General Admission, General Admission with on-track accommodation access and Grandstand Seating. Each of these options are available in single, weekend and day passes.
