Maroochydore is a popular holiday town located at the heart of the attractive Moroochy region on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Maroochydore offers an ideal location, situated at the intersection between the ocean and the Maroochy River.
Maroochydore continues north from the attractive beaches of Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba. Just north of Alexandra Headland at the Southern end of Maroochydore is Cotton Tree where you can find some fabulous beaches popular with all ages.
The main surfing beach is obviously popular with surfers, although Maroochydore also hosts a number of sheltered beaches popular with families, along Cotton Tree Esplanade which is opposite the Maroochy River. The beaches are backed by pretty parkland which is ideal for picnics or walking.

There are plenty of attractions that you can enjoy at Maroochydore, as well as a number of different festivals and competitions. Maroochydore is home to a number of surfing and surf lifesaving events. Surfing is a popular sport at Maroochydore, along with boating, fishing and jet skiing.
