Melbourne Wineries

Victoria's main wine growing regions are the Yarra Valley and the Mornington Peninsula, which are both a nice scenic drive from Melbourne.

The Yarra Valley is well known for its great wines. There are around 150 wineries in the area. The area's fairly cool climate makes it well suited to the production of quality chardonnay, pinot noir and sparkling wine.

The Mornington Peninsula also has a cool climate and it is a famous wine region. It produces small amounts of high quality wine from around 60 wineries. Many wineries are open for public tastings, and many have great restaurants.
