The popular Sydney CBD Italian restaurant Machiavelli , the lunchtime haunt of Sydney's high fliers from the world of business, entertainment and media, has decided to throw open its doors for dinner five nights a week.

As well as constant requests from our regular lunchtime clientele that we should open for dinner Monday to Friday, we felt that Machiavelli would also appeal to the growing number of city residents, explained Giovanna Toppi, who runs Machiavelli with her daughter, Caterina .Machiavelli is famous for its bustling tempo, generous servings of antipasta, salads, pasta, seafood and desserts and a comprehensive wine list featuring Australian and Italian vintages. Portraits on the main walls feature some of Australia's most famous political figures past and present as well as a famous broadcaster who is familiar with their innermost secrets - John Laws, a regular customer.
