The Grass Tree Business vision aims to provide a unique dining and lifestyle experience by offering authentic and innovative east and west cuisines, with an emphasis on quality and economics. Enjoying delicious food is of ever-increasing importance to the people, inspiring health, happiness and knowledge.

The Grass Tree Cafe and Restaurant came into existence in March 2003 when owners Daniel and Ling Lichtensteiger fell in love with the lifestyle and fresh foods available in Kalbarri. They also recognised the demand for an increase in fine dinning available throughout Western Australias Mid West Region. This popular tourist stretch now known as the Coral Coast had so much to offer in many areas that would be complimented by a restaurant that could embrace its charm.
