Located 640 kilometres south of Darwin and approximately 35 kilometres south of Dunmurra, is Frew Ponds Overland Telegraph Line Memorial Reserve.
The reserve serves as a tribute to Sir Charles Todd, builder of the Overland Telegraph Line and commemorates the joining of the two ends of the line in 1872. Fifty two of the original Oppenhiemer poles remain within the reserve and can be accessed by a 1.5 kilometre walking trail.
