With over 5,000 trees from around the world, nature lovers and botanists will find Golden Valley Tree Park in Ballingup a must see destination.
Saunter along the park's walk-trails to see a plethora of different species of trees including the Gingkos from China which were once thought to be extinct, Also of interest are the Cleveland Oaks from England that were planted in 1946 and three species of Cedar trees.
If you time your trip right, you'll be able to feast on the fruit from the park's mulberry, apple and pear trees. For the avid hiker there are several walk trails throughout the park including the Bibbulmun Track which passes through the park on its 900 kilometre journey from Kalamunda to Albany. If you would like to learn more about the trees, guided tours are available on request.
Bring a picnic lunch or have a barbecue with the family on the barbecue facilities provided. There is a safe area for children to play and even the family dog is welcome as long as he remains on a leash.
Less than three hours drive south of Perth the Golden Valley Tree Park is an enjoyable place to stop whilst in Balingup.
