OverviewGently undulating hills provide a picturesque backdrop for the cool clear water, and the grassed area is a popular picnic spot with its shaded tables and barbecues. Swimming, canoeing and fishing are some of the activities the weir is used for. No powerboats are allowed.
Take a walk to the rock face wall of the weir where nearby a bronze plaque commemorates the discovery in 1942 of the first known specimen of Western Australia's own Noisy Scrub bird.
Drakesbrook is an irrigation dam which collects the overflow from Waroona Dam. The dam is stocked annually with Rainbow Trout, and has a population of Redfin, Perch and Marron.
