Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural Centre - a true indigenous experience. Muru Mittigar has a retail art gallery, fine arts and crafts by Aboriginal artists, nature walks with native plants traditionally used by Aboriginal people for medicinal, food or material resources and Café Muru.
While visiting Muru Mittigar is free and you can wander through the Cultural Centre, Art Gallery and Nature Walk at your own pace.
The Yarra Walk where you learn about the traditional uses of local native plants by Aboriginal people - tour time, 60 minutes. Boomerang throwing is also an option and demonstrated in an open area. Visitors are encouraged to try their own hand at Boomerang throwing and learn how this important item was used for sport and as an essential weapon for hunting.
