The resort is of historic interest, being the site of the first settlement in the Shoalhaven District.

It occupies the original buildings of Alexander Berry's Coolangatta Estate which are now used as guestrooms and restaurants.

In 1946 the main homestead burned down, local man Col Bishop has spent much of his life restoring the homestead.

The old estate office, meeting hall, stables, coachhouse, blacksmith's shop, servant quarters and convict cottages have all has been restored and refurnished in keeping with the original style.

Visit the original Coolangatta, situated on 300 acres where visitors can take self-guided historic tours, visit the cellar door with historic photo display and award winning wine tasting, eat in our restaurant specialising in regional produce or play a round on our 9 hole golf course.
