The Great River Walk at Penrith has beautiful views of the Nepean River and Blue Mountains. The weir section of the walk winds northward from Penrith Weir to Cassola Place, approximately a two kilometre return walk. There is also another seven kilometres of the existing Bridge to Bridge section which uses Nepean Avenue to create a walking path from the Penrith Valley Bridge to the Victoria bridge and back. Access to the walk is also available from Memorial Avenue where a series of steps lead down to the river and allow you to walk under the Victoria Bridge.
There are toilets, parking, picnic tables, large shady trees and maintained grassed areas at Weir Reserve, Tench Reserve, and Regatta Park. Tench Reserve and Regatta Park have barbecues and playground areas.
The walk is only a short stroll from Penrith and Emu Plains Railway Stations.
