Cowell is a small town on the Eyre Peninsula with a population of approximately 800. It attracts many visitors each year because of the excellent fishing available in the calm waters of Franklin Harbour on which Cowell is situated.
Cowell Lions Club organises street markets for the first Sunday in each month, October to February, as well as the March long weekend and Easter Sunday, each year. The markets attract many visitors to the area with a variety of stall holders, live music and food. Most of the shops and attractions in Cowell open on market day, giving visitors a good selection of venues to choose from.
