William Bay is located between Denmark and Walpole off the South Coast Highway. This stunning area is where the forest meets the coastline. Like many areas on the South Coast there is no coastal plain, in its place are spectacular high hills of granite rocks which have a stonehenge-like appearance.
The William Bay National Park is a popular destination for those in the area. While it is a relatively small park (1867 hectares) the magnificent flora and fauna more than makes up for any deficit in size. At the park you can see amazing karri forests, peppermint and coastal heath. The park attracts many marsupials and approximately 100 different species of birds. From August to October the wildflowers are particularly impressive.
Fishing is popular in this coastal region, and species caught include Whiting, Herring, Australian Salmon and Mulloway. Bushwalking is also a good way to take in the breathtaking surrounds. There are numerous tracks at the National Park.
