Armidale is an attractive town lined with beautifully coloured trees during autumn. There are a host of museums and things to do in this lively town as well as an Aboriginal Cultural Centre.
The landscape in this area is spectacular, with a couple of wonderful waterfalls. Heading east from Armidale are Dangar's Falls and Wollomombi Falls, which are truly beautiful after rain.

Armidale was first settled in the early 1830s, following the earlier exploration of the area by John Oxley. It was named after Armadale on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
