Ash Island is located approximately 15 kilometres from the city centre following the Pacific Highway north. A popular attraction located on Ash Island is the Kooragang Wetlands and City Farm.
Kooragang Wetlands features a number of walking and cycling tracks together with some great picnic spots and expansive river views.
It's a great place to see restoration of fisheries, wildlife, habitat and and rainforest. Information about the Koorgagang Wetlands can be found at the Newcastle Visitor Information Centre.
