Adventurous Caving Day Tour
Climb into the truly adventurous underground world and explore a maze of underground boulder caves where you will find phosphorous glow worms & cave crickets. Participants are given a safety talk and a description of the unusual granite boulder cave formation, before exploring various parts of the cave system.
Join us for a Full or Half Day (3 hours) Caving tour at the Labertouche Caves in Gippsland, to spend time underground exploring.
The package takes place at Labertouche Caves, a 1 hour drive from Moorabbin (transfers available from the train station). On arrival at the departure point you will have a 2km walk into the cave site and return and about 3 hours of abseiling into the caves and exploring them as we journey through the live system.
The Labertouche Caves are granite boulder caves with a creek running through them. There is one entrance and one exit, so you must come prepared to work your way through the whole system with our experienced and qualified guides.
During our caving we usually get wet and muddy although as the caves are at the head of a gully, they will not flood while we are underground. The two locations available for this activity are suitable for both beginners and intermediate caving experiences.
We supply helmets with head torches, fleecy tops and some longer pants or overalls with other group safety and caving equipment. You are welcome to BYO clothing too. You need to feel comfortable when climbing and scrambling through the muddy caves.
A day of fun & adventure awaits the bold!
