The Goulburn is the longest river in the State and is one of the most beautiful, and is ideal for canoeing for most of the year. Water from the Goulburn irrigates half-a-million hectares (the food bowl). It is a deep and ancient river, which slowly meanders through the Australian bush and provides a habitat for many species of flora and fauna.
On the day of your canoeing safari you will be greeted by your qualified accredited tour guide near Wyuna. You will then follow them to Yambuna Bridge where you will park your vehicle in a safe location. Your guides will then drive you upstream to the departure point for the canoeing trip.
This will be the start of your self-guided safari, as you and your group travel downstream back to Yambuna Bridge.
The "Yambuna" safari begins on the banks of the majestic Goulburn River. For the next several hours you will have a fantastic time on the Goulburn River and you may even get to see a shy platypus. Paddling with the gentle current, you follow the the river as it slowly meanders through the pristine Australian bush towards the Murray River.
Lunch is available for $20 (per person) or bring your own. You can carry your picnic lunch on the canoes and enjoy it on a remote sandbar in the midst of the thick forest.
The safari finishes at Yambuna Bridge in the afternoon, where your guide will meet you.
