This scary comedy play finishes with a glass of sparkling wine and gourmet cheese platters. It is scary but it is fun!

The "What Was That?" Night Tour at Werribee Park Mansion is a fun filled, slightly scary play performed by our actors as they guide you around the mansion.

To set the scene... It is July 1908, the mistress, Mary Chirnside, died three weeks ago as a result of a terrible accident. Since then, there have been many unusual occurrences; objects moving, strange noises and ghostly figures.

The Chirnside brothers, Thomas and Andrew, came out from Scotland to Australia in 1839. Over the years they accumulated enormous wealth as squatters, with their sole source of income coming from sheep farming. Thomas, the elder brother, never married but had the magnificent Werribee Park Mansion built for his brother Andrew, his wife Mary and their three youngest children. This was completed in 1877. Thomas resided mainly at Point Cook but was a frequent visitor to Werribee Mansion.

Despite this, the only two remaining servants, Maggie and Mr Duncan have miraculously managed to keep their sense of humour. It is therefore with mixed feelings of excitement and trepidation that you are welcomed here tonight, for what is about to happen is both inexplicable and most enjoyable. Let the evening begin!
