Face the far north wilderness on a 4WD Safari Cape York Frontier. Visit Daintree National Park, Cooktown, Lakefield National Park and Thursday Island. Get off the beaten track and explore some of a region's less accessible locations while staying in a mix of quality accommodation styles.

Day 1: Cairns - Cooktown
Departing Cairns at 7.00am we'll travel north through the Daintree Rainforest crossing the infamous Daintree River by cable ferry and travelling onto the primeval jungle. Continuing along the famous Bloomfield Track (weather permitting) we'll stop at the quaint Lion's Den Hotel before passing the eerie Black Mountain to Cooktown where you'll tour the sights of this historic area including spectacular views from Grassy Hill.

Day 2: Lakefield National Park
Today we'll travel through the agricultural district of Lakeland on the way to ”˜Quinkan Country' near Laura and climb the sandstone escarpment at Split Rock to view ancient Aboriginal rock art dated in excess of 13,000 years old, depicting traditional activities and culture. You'll explore Lakefield National Park, the second largest in Queensland at 537,000 hectares and see waterlily covered billabongs, birdlife and wildlife before arriving at the Telegraph Station and the working cattle station of Musgrave.

Day 3: Weipa
Crossing the Great Dividing Range you'll visit the old gold mining town of Coen and onward to the picturesque Archer River before heading to the west coast of the peninsula to the bauxite mining town of Weipa.

Day 4: Moreton
Today we travel via Batavia Downs to the Wenlock River, site of the historic Moreton Telegraph Office, with time for exploring, bushwalking, birdwatching or relaxing.

Day 5: Bamaga
Our 4WD adventure is at its best today as we travel along the famous Telegraph Track through Cape York's unique wilderness. You'll enjoy lunch and time to swim in the pristine waters of Fruit Bat Falls and later, cross the mighty Jardine River to Bamaga.

Day 6: Cape York
We'll visit the beautiful Lockerbie Scrub, an isolated pocket of monsoon rainforest on our way to historic Somerset. This afternoon, it's an emotional walk to the very top of Australia, Cape York! B L D
Day 7: Cairns
We're off on a cruise across to Thursday Island, capital of the Torres Strait Islands where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the island and be transferred by ferry to Horn Island. As the day draws to a close you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Great Barrier Reef as we fly to Cairns, arriving at approximately 5:30pm. B
