Penguin Island and Dolphin Watch Adventure Cruise

Penguin Island and Dolphin Watch Adventure Cruise - Dolphin & Whale WatchSee wild dolphins, sea lions and watch the penguin feeding at Penguin Island! This exhilarating cruise takes in the highlights of the spectacular Shoalwater Islands Marine Park (45 minutes south of Perth) before concluding on Penguin Island, home to WA's largest colony of little penguins.

Your cruise begins with getting up close and personal with the local wild dolphins. Meet Logo, Boomerang, Blizzard or any other of over 200 local dolphins that we have come to know as friends. You may see mothers looking after new born calves, learn how they use stingrays to catch their dinner or see them spectacularly jumping out of the wake of our boat! After spending some quality time with the dolphins, the return cruise takes in the highlights of Shoalwater Bay including the sea lion colony at Seal Island, the ospreys nest at Gull Rock, the pelican rookery on Penguin Island and any other wildlife opportunities that present themselves on the day.

Although our cruise is all about experiencing the wildlife, you'll love the awesome ride on our 12.5 metre RHIB! (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat). Three * 350 horsepower outboard engines deliver a fast, exciting ride while being super safe and comfortable. The open design ensures a direct connection with the environment and a sense of being right in the adventure- seeing the wildlife up close, feeling every thrill and experiencing the beauty of the marine park first hand.

The cruise concludes on beautiful Penguin Island in time for the daily penguin feeding at the Discovery Centre. You can then enjoy free time to explore Penguin Island. There are sandy white beaches perfect for sun bathing, swimming and snorkelling (you must bring own equipment). There is also a nature walk along raised timber boardwalks (voted as one of WA's Top 50 Top Trails). It takes 45 minutes to an hour of easy walking that takes in sweeping coastal views and secluded beaches. Visitors can see seabird nests and kings skinks (a native lizard) and occasionally little penguins (depending on time of year).

Highlights Include:

90 minute cruise to see dolphins, sea lions and the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park
Penguin feeding at the discovery centre
Free time to swim, snorkel or just relax on the white sandy beaches of Penguin Island
Choice of return ferry at 1:10pm, 2:10pm, 3:10pm or 4:00pm
