Margaret River Canoe Tour
Experience Margaret River's unparalleled natural beauty on this complete eco tour. No prior experience is required, as you paddle down pristine Margaret River, taking in the views of untouched wilderness. Docking on the mainland you can enjoy a wholesome Australian lunch. This tour is the perfect way to familiarise with this beautiful region.
The tour begins as your tour group meets at the Margaret River mouth in the morning. If you have no transport available you may organise pick up from the Margaret River Visitor Centre.
At the river mouth, enjoy exhilarating views off Surfers Point and the river meeting the ocean. Equipment and canoe instruction will be provided for participants of all skill levels, before you set off into the river. In 2 - 5 seater canoes you will pass cliffs, caves, pioneer and Aboriginal sites.
Guests will enjoy flat water canoeing in Canadian canoes, paddling up-stream to visit a number of sites along the riverbank. No motor craft are permitted on the river, thus the valley's eco system is well preserved. The region boasts shimmering waters, native wildlife, unique forests and peaceful surrounds.
A hearty Australian lunch will be prepared for your enjoyment. The lunch gives you the opportunity to taste a variety of bush tucker as well as gourmet food, and learn about the medicinal properties of plants found within the area. We offer a large selection of dips, pesto’s, chutney’s, relishes, smoked meats which include kangaroo, emu and turkey, bush salad and a selection of local bread.
There is also the option of trying some of our native bush foods, which includes our famous Marinated Witjuti Grubs! Lunch is a very wholesome and filling, no one will leave unsatisfied! A great experience is completed with historical tales concerning original settlers and indigenous tribes.
Now paddle upstream past forested kangaroo habitats, learning about the history behind the region's first native inhabitants, and the trials of the famous Bussel family of Busselton. In the afternoon you may take the time to swim in the river's waters or take some fantastic photos.
