Day 1: Welcome to Cairns

Meet your Travel Director for an orientation tour of the tropical city of Cairns. Be my guest dining experienceBecome further acquainted this evening at a Be My Guest BBQ dinner with a local family at their home in Cairns. Spend the evening learning about life in the tropics and soak up warm, friendly Aussie vibes.

Day 2: Great Barrier Reef

Board a high-speed catamaran and cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef. The World Heritage listed reef is the only living organism that can be seen from the moon. You’ll have the opportunity to go snorkelling (equipment provided) or view the spectacular coral and tropical sh from the underwater observatory and semi-submersible craft. Enjoy a tropical buffet lunch before you return to Cairns in the late afternoon.

Day 3 : Cairns – Mission Beach


This morning you’ll take the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway to Kuranda, the ‘village in the rainforest’. Continue to the Atherton Tablelands with rainforests, waterfalls and lakes. Visit Millaa Millaa Falls and the heritage listed 500-year-old Curtain Fig Tree. Arrive in relaxed Mission Beach during the afternoon and take some time before dinner to stroll along the shore.

Day 4: Mission Beach – Hamilton Island

Stop in Townsville today, with time for a stroll along the Strand before continuing to Airlie Beach to catch the ferry to Hamilton Island. One of 74 tropical islands that make up the Whitsunday group in the heart of the Great Barrier Reef, Hamilton Island boasts pristine beaches and a kaleidoscope of coral and marine life.

Day 5: Hamilton Island

Cruise this morning to spectacular Whitehaven Beach. Wander in peace along its 7 kilometres of pure white sand, or if you’re feeling energetic, take a walk to Hill’s Inlet for elevated views over the Whitsunday islands and the sparkling waters of the Great Barrier Reef. Back on Hamilton Island, the afternoon is yours in this tropical paradise.

Day 6 : Hamilton Island – Rockhampton


Return to the mainland today and travel to Mackay, Australia’s sugar capital, to the town of Sarina for a guided tour of a unique miniature sugar mill and distillery. Continue to Rockhampton. With a local cattle population of 2.5 million, ‘Rocky’ is often considered Australia’s beef capital.

Day 7 : Rockhampton – Hervey Bay

Cross the Tropic of Capricorn this morning and stop at Langmorn Station, a fully-operational cattle property. A member of the Creed family, whose forebears built the original homestead in 1873, will lead you on a guided tour of the station. Enjoy morning tea in the garden in the company of the family’s friendly pet kangaroo. Afterwards, enjoy a guided tour of the Ohana Exotic Fruit Orchard before travelling on to Hervey Bay, gateway to Fraser Island.

Day 8: Hervey Bay – Noosa

Today cross the Great Sandy Strait by ferry to explore World Heritage listed Fraser Island, the world’s largest sand island. See Lake McKenzie, a freshwater lake ringed with white sandy beaches, and walk through rainforest at Central Station. Enjoy lunch before your 4WD tour takes you to view the coloured sands of Rainbow Beach (tide permitting). Later, travel on to the Sunshine Coast resort town of Noosa.

Day 9: Noosa Free Time

Take time out today to discover Noosa for yourself. Swim in the clear waters of Main Beach, or venture a little further a eld on an easy walk along the spectacular headland to Noosa National Park. If you’re feeling adventurous, you may like to hire a stand-up paddle board or even take a boat ride through the incredible Noosa Everglades, one of Australia’s most beautiful wilderness areas. The shaded waterways and abundant wildlife along the Noosa River will delight you. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 10: Noosa – Gold Coast

Today visit Australia Zoo, made famous by the late Steve Irwin and his family. Enjoy a sneak peek into the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital and see how AAT Kings works with its Wildlife Warriors to support the koala rehabilitation project at the hospital, the country’s largest and busiest wildlife facility. Later, enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Queensland capital Brisbane before travelling on to the iconic Gold Coast, where the evening is free to do as you choose.

Day 12 : Gold Coast – Port Macquarie

Leave the glitz of the Gold Coast behind today as you journey to Cape Byron Lighthouse for superb views over the Pacific Ocean from Australia’s easternmost point. Afterwards spend time absorbing the relaxed bohemian vibe of Byron Bay. Continue to picturesque seaside Port Macquarie for the evening.

Day 13 : Port Macquarie – Farewell from Sydney
