Always have the smallest section of your tent facing 'WEST'.
As we discovered in gale force winds, all the tent poles peirced through the tent and snaped in half, park your car on the west side of the tent to create a wind barrier.

Get a blow up air bed. Camping ground floors can be pretty hard.
