How do I fit the twist spring in the lid of our lemair 2.2 machine

Posted By Karl on Friday 17th September 2021 @ 14:13:36

Hello does anyone know where I can buy a foam insert for my Lemair washing machine

Posted By Jennifer on Wednesday 3rd March 2021 @ 14:55:50

Check that the outlet hose is higher than the machine. The water wont drain properly if its not.

We are having much the same problem as Question19- the machine washes, rinses has a short spin then goes back to rinsing again and again. Meanwhile the clothes are twisted and thrown to one side of the bowl.Welcome any help or suggestions as to what to do.Thanking you.

Ours is not working, the lights are on its getting water, if you wiggle the bowl the light flickers

We have a Lemair XQBM20-C and it works well except for the issues of slow filling. I have found that if I remove and replace the inlet hose it seems to fix the problem.

Does anyone know why it starts to fill slowly? It is very annoying

I live in NSW. We bought a new one for the same reason from Good Guys for $299. We played around with the hose repositioning so that it was running flat on floor level for about 150 mil before raising to sink level but did not help. In the end we took it out of caravan opened the back and the pump had died also the bowl had come off the balancer. This was only 12 mths old. So bought a new one with new for old insurance for $60. Good guys will replace for 5 yrs. Part of the problem was mine as I never put the foam insert in the washer while travelling. Domestic washers have a plastic mould you can buy separately for $18 from Camec and it fits into the lemair.
Hope this helps.

Hi Lou,

We had a problem about six months ago while at Tweed Heads. I called the caravan manufacturer (Evernew in our case) to get a contact for LeMair, and it turns out that their office is in Sydney. They don't have offices dotted around the place, but they did send a local repair man to look at the problem.
Good to deal with so you could consider that approach.
regards and best of luck,
Bill Howard

PS. I assume you have done all of the layman's things like checking that there are no hose kinks, and that you have not thrown the belt which operates the pump etc..

Make sure the drain hose is elevated higher than the machine. For further info please contact me before Saturday morning to explain.

Posted By Judi on Friday 14th August 2015 @ 12:34:37

We have one and simply load it gently to the top, eg.1 queen sheet and 1 pillow case, some clothes and 1 towel, some clothes. Don't ram the washing in, we use any cheap detergent but watch the amount you use, make it appropriate to the size of your machine at home. Monthly we give it a bleach wash, no clothes to get rid of sludge, see instructions. OK its only a small machine but it gets the job done admirably.

I had similar problems with my first machine. Check that the waste water hose is straight out (not kinked and straight up) from the machine outlet for about 2 inches and then is elevated (just like your machine at home). Hopefully this will help with your problem.

Le air washes OK, but thumps like nothing else when in spin cycle. Almost impossible to arrange the clothes so that it does not.

So bad that I think the back will fall out of the caravan.

Apart from putting the Lemair in the tip and getting a different brand, does anyone have any suggestions please?

Have a lemair and have been happy but today it was jumping a bit on spin cycle so I lifted the lid to stop the machine. Now when I press the start button the panel does not light up so I can go no further. Have checked the power and its ok. I think it may be a fuse but dont know where it is to replace it. The machine was also fitted into the caravan by windsor dealer and cannot work out how to remove it from the platform attached to the floor. Can anyone help.

To the people that are having trouble with water draining out while in use. I remember reading when we got ours four years ago. The drain hose must be higher than the high water level or it will drain in use. Hope this helps. We are also looking for the foam packing that fits in the top of the machine if anyone can halo . We have had our lemair for a couple of years, it has just decided to not go through the cycle. I used to be able to manually move it on but now it just keeps filling until it overflows and I stop it, then won't move to washing mode. Do I need a new white control box or is this the water level module that is giving a bad signal to the machine. If anyone can help I would be grateful. I have pulled it apart and nothing seems to be out of order, I thought a wire may have come loose. Tony

We've had Lemair machines in both our vans. I love mine.

I wash the fitted sheet and two pillow slips in one load and the top sheet in the next. They wash beautifully. I bought fine cotton sheets for our longer trips as they are light and comfortable and fit into the machine easily.

I usually play it by ear when washing clothes and am amazed at how much the machine can take.

I wash two bath towels, a hand towel, face washer and small brh mat in one load.

What I have done, is changed from very thick towels and sheets to a thinner, but still of good quality and nice to use.

I have used both powder and liquid and Favouer powder, as I find it easier to measure. Both work equally as well.

I use my machine every couple of days.

It is important to have the foam insert in when travelling.

Hi Karen

We have had the lemair in 2 of our vans and love it. It holds two medium size towels plus hand towel. I normally wash every two days the clothes we have been wearing to keep it under control. Sheets are too big.

I use liquid detergent.

If it is not installed in van it is really important that when you use it that the drain hose is flat about 2 inches from drain then up higher than the machine to keep the water from draining out. Took me a while to realise this with my first one.

Before I would do anything rash please check these. Make sure the outlet hose is about 2 inches straight out from the outlet valve. This should help with the draining. With the spin it could be something small is caught up in the pump. If neither of these show any improvement I can't help.

Good luck

You could just get your husband to install - no different to a washing machine at home.

This forum is really useful and I'd just like to ask your advice. We've just put a deposit down for a 2010 Jayco Sterling caravan and I asked the dealer if they could fit a washing machine and he said he thought it would be around $1500! With the Lemair 2.2kg, would it be easy enough for me to buy it myself and then have it installed privately. Anyone recommend any installers based in Sydney? Or is it a job I could persuade my mechanic husband he could take on?!! Thank you

Hi I have finally mastered my washing machine after 3 or 4 yrs of temper tantrums when i use it. It always used to drain the water out when it was filling up or it wouldn't pump the water out.
Easy solution (only a fluke) make sure the drain hose is flat for about 6 inches from the machine (that is the secret, I've always had it elevated straight from the machine) and the turn on the drain hose is elevated. Bingo. Hope this helps because I remember trying to find answers for this same problem.

I have a Lemair washing machine which I used to carry in the shower and move it outside when we parked. I have now built it into a cupboard on runners which you can just slide it out to fill and push back in when washing or not using.

The problem with water draining out is that the outlet hose must be higher at some point before it drains away or the water rushing out will siphon the machine dry. This is a problem with all washing machines so just hang the hose higher than machine.

We have had ours for 6 years and works well.

We purchased a new jayco van in June 2010, with the Lemair washing machine.
Within 18 months the hinge on the lid snapped along with the lid due to the vibration of the machine whilst spinning. With the repair bill at $187.00 from Decaps in WA, the machine is still vibrating badly and certainly causing more grief every time it is used.

Is anyone else finding the same problem, as i am considering replacing with a spere machine.

Our Lemair washing machine water pump decided to spit the dummy after 10 months of rigorous but careful use. We had it repaired and cost us $210 to put in a Bosch replacement pump. To replace it with the original Lemair pump would have taken several weeks because of the apparent difficulty of getting parts. I was shocked to see that a new washing machine can be bought online for $369. Hmmm.... you live and learn. Or do we? And... we discovered that a 5 cent piece accidentally dropped into the bowl CAN find its way in to block the pump. Take care to empty all pockets.

We bought this machine 3 years ago second hand. It gets bundled into our car to take camping in our camper trailer several times a year & is now also my main washing machine at home - to save water. It has never missed a beat & the thing I like about it is that it doesn't need to be plumbed in to use it. When camping I fill it with 3 buckets of water (easy) & it just stops & waits for more water for the rinses. It just needs a sullage hose for the outgoing water & that's easy. Best thing I ever bought!

We bought the Lemair 2.2 washing machine to put into a 5th wheeler last year. Its the best thing I have bought. To was properly I think 2 large towels, or 1 queen bed sheet and 2 pillowcases, or 2 of my husbands work shirts, 2 shorts and 2 pairs of socks.
Sometimes you have to do a few loads but it takes around 17 minutes, I recommend a liquid detergent as the cycles are fast and it disolves quickly. Im sure you wouldnt be sorry. I made the mistake of buying from a caravan shop for $345, I have since seen them for $299 in the good guys, i think caravan shops and RV shows are most expensive. Good for ideas but try to buy elsewhere. Goodluck.
