Outright or loan
Ok- I'm a bit tossed on what to do. My son (6yo) have set our sights to travel this great country in 2013- which leaves many decisions to be made.
I currently have a 2007 Toyota Aurion on a fixed secured loan until the end of November 2012. No caravan as yet.
Keep the Aurion, buy a Jayco Starcraft 13.42-1 (new outright- I have found there are limited caravans this size available used and in reasonable condition) and a porta potty. Limits our options in regards to free camps and we'd be pretty much tied to a caravan park.
November, sell the Aurion- buy a 4wd worth about $15,000-$18,000. Buy a caravan with shower/toilet included- longer and heavier but because there's much more of them around, I'd be able to get it slightly cheaper but because I spent some of my budget on the car I'd have to get a loan for it but this may be countered with the fact that we would be able to free camp a lot more- reducing weekly costs.
So- what to do, what to do.

Hey Good question, i think that the second choice is the most affortable one, but in other hand if you don't have money enough to do it maybe is better to keep on going with the first option... but as i said, you have to see what are your priorities and what do you think is essential for you... I think that if my priority was travelling with caravans and all... i would try to do what you said in the 2nd scenario...
