I am about a year away from finishing my RN degree, I plan to work for a couple of years then travel Australia, once we have some money behind us (I'm married with two kids).
My question is - is it easy to pick up casual work as I travel? I'd love to hear from any other nurses who have done something similar and found it hard/easy??

I am thinking of doing the same with a nursing agency but not sure which agency to go with..any advice? also where can I do the immuniser course cheaply. one that I asked about cost about $1700 unless I do it as part of a grad cert course which would work out to be around $760. Too expensive!

Hi there! My husband and I are setting off in January with our two kids and two dogs for an undecided periods of time. I'm a registered nurse and midwife and plan to work as we go. I've begun contacting agencies in preparation and I'm already getting messages at least twice a week trying to convince me to start work with them earlier.
I don't think you'll have any problem! Spend a couple of years chalking up experience though. Working in areas such as ED and honing your canulation skills as well as doing a nurse immuniser course would have definite advantages! Good luck!
