Gol Gol is a small town in the far western region of New South Wales, Australia. It is a Murray River township on the Sturt Highway. Follow the walking track from the boat ramp up to Drings Hill to see a well preserved midden that demonstrates a long history of Aboriginal occupation in the Sunraysia Region.
Gol Gol was proclaimed a township in 1866; however, the village allotments did not begin to be occupied until the late 1870s.
In the town visitors can enjoy fine dining and entertainment at the renovated Gol Gol Hotel or sample award-winning wines or dine with a river view at Trentham Estate Winery. Call in to the Gallery of China and Ceramics, which specialises in producing Australiana and traditional hand-painted china. You can also do a kayak tour of the surrounding billabongs and creeks.
